The first weeks after birth ask a lot of your body

Getting out of bed, lifting your baby, sitting still in the same feeding position for half an hour. Your middle feels soft and empty, and your lower back quietly takes on the rest of the work. A bit of hold around your waist makes those days noticeably easier — without you having to think about it.

Why is the Belly Band a must-have?

✅ Even hold: the band sits across your whole middle and spreads the pressure instead of digging in at one spot.
✅ Three panels, three settings: top, middle and bottom fasten separately, so it sits firm where you want it and loose where you feel tender.
✅ C-shaped cut: the back panel follows the curve of your lower back, so it is far less likely to ride up.
✅ Soft pad for your scar: place it over the tender area so the band never rests on it directly.
✅ Wear it under anything: flat finished with no bulky seams, so it barely shows under joggers or a blouse.

When your middle feels loose and every move hurts

Three panels you set separately hold everything together: firm where you want it, gentle where you're sore.

  • Stand upright again
  • Nothing pressing on tender spots
  • Sized on two measurements

Photos after a week of wearing it, front and back. After my EMCS the hospital binder rolled up every time I sat down. With this one I set the three flaps separately, the bottom one a bit looser over the scar, and it stays put, even when I'm feeding on the sofa. Getting up finally feels like I'm all in one piece again.

I thought these bands mostly played on how insecure you feel after giving birth. Packed it in my hospital bag for my ELCS anyway. From day four I wore it and could walk down the corridor upright instead of hunched over. It's not about my tummy, it's about feeling held together.

When you're a bigger size it's always a gamble whether these fit. I went for 2XL using the size chart and it fastens nicely without digging into my ribs. The back panel gives my lower back proper support when I'm lifting the car seat.

My physio warned me not to rely on it all day, so I only wear it when I'm up and about. That's exactly when it makes the difference. I can lift the baby out of the Moses basket myself now without shouting for my partner.

The Velcro on my first band gave up after a few weeks. I've had this one six weeks now, on and off every day, and the flaps still grip just as well. Little tip: don't yank them too tight, it sits more comfortably that way too.

Why you will love it
Three separate zones
Stays flat when seated
Soft pad included
Support, not shapewear
Sizes M to 2XL

An abdominal support band with three panels you fasten separately, so the tension is not the same everywhere. The back panel is cut in a C shape that follows the hollow of your lower back, and that is what stops it riding up when you sit down. A soft pad is included to place between the band and a tender spot. Wearable on bare skin or over underwear, after a caesarean and after a vaginal birth — and also used after abdominal surgery. A support garment, not a medical device and not a waist trainer.

Why one tight band does not do the job

Why one tight band does not do the job

An ordinary band pinches in one spot and rides up. The Belly Band has three panels you adjust separately and a back panel that follows the curve of your lower back, so the pressure is spread across your whole waist.

Support for the weeks your middle feels unfamiliar

Firm where you want it, gentle where you are sore. It does not change your shape, and that is not what it is for.

The questions buyers ask

Is this for me?
Yes, whether you had a caesarean or a vaginal birth — this is about support around your middle in the weeks it feels loose. It is also worn after abdominal surgery. Treat it as a temporary aid for those first weeks rather than a replacement for your recovery; when you start and how long you wear it is a conversation with your own clinician. Day one is too early for a lot of people, and that is normal.
What does it feel like to wear?
Your middle feels held together instead of loose, and your lower back has less to do on its own. You set the three panels separately, so it is firm where you want it and gentle where you are sore, with the pad between the band and that spot. And when you sit down it stays where you put it — so do sit down in it for a minute, that is the test.
Is this not just a waist trainer?
No. This is a support band: we promise you no smaller waist and no inches. Your tummy looks smoother while you wear it and you are back to your own shape the moment you take it off — that is how it goes, and it is not what this is for. What it is for: standing up straight, the stairs, and picking your baby up without bracing yourself.
Which size do I need?
Measure two things: your waist and your lower belly. Size on those, not on your usual dress size — after a birth the two rarely match. Order after the birth rather than weeks ahead during a sale: that way you measure at the moment that counts and stay inside your returns window.
And if it does not fit after all?
Then send it back within thirty days and you get your purchase amount returned. Email our English-speaking customer service at info@vandori.nl and we will sort it out together. Do measure once more using the two measurements in the question above — that often saves a trip to the post office.
What does delivery cost?

Nothing. Delivery within the UK is free on every order, whatever its size.

When is my order shipped?

Order by 11pm and your order is processed the next working day. You get a tracking code as soon as the parcel is on its way.

Can I return my order?

Yes. You have thirty days to change your mind. If the product is not for you, send it back within that period and you get your money back.

How can I pay?

You pay by card, Google Pay or Shop Pay. The payment runs through Shopify's secure checkout.

How do I reach customer service?

Through the contact page in the menu, or by email at info@vandori.nl. Our English-speaking customer service answers on working days.
